Things I bought, things I want
I returned from Mexico late Saturday morning (we left at the literal crack of dawn), just in time to hunker down and prepare for the pretty snowstorm: a gentle reentry after a really good trip that I’ll be going on about in greater length on Thursday. I will say that it was fun wearing airy caftans and sandals for a week. Still, I woke up for my Sunday morning ready to layer up again, and coveting this organic silk shirt, which has an appealingly slouchy shape—I’d wear it just as styled here. It also comes in quite a few other good colors, but I think this navy is standout.
This entirely great denim shirt dress is already sold out in some sizes even though it just hit Everlane’s site last week (I would have posted it right away but alas, vacation), and I can understand why: it has a casual feel, while still looking quite put-together.
This shape on this subtly boxy cashmere sweater is just perfect; similarly, this classic V-neck nails it. Both come in several shades.
A snappy-looking cotton knit blazer for under $100 that also comes in some extended sizes and other colors.
This is a pretty summery dress—it’d be tough to pull off right now in icy NYC—but I feel like I’ll regret it if I don’t go for it now and it sells out in my size. It’s just got such a good, flattering silhouette. And is such a fun, bright green. Thoughts?
I like Rag & Bone’s Dre jeans because they’re straight, not skinny, and lower-waisted without going too low. Also, they’ve got a touch of stretch. And right now they’re marked down at Saks.
Also from the Saks sale: this amazing silk pintuck tuxedo shirt, which I’d wear with this well-priced silk cami.
I’ve wanted a varsity jacket forever, and this one just couldn’t be cuter.
This chic little short-sleeve cardi is a perfect layering piece. I’d wear mine with a contrast-y long-sleeved striped tee, like this one.
I’m always up for a new take on the classic denim jacket, and this lady-styled number couldn’t be a lot cuter. I also really like the denim’s dark wash.
And finally, a cute striped shirt in a happy red. And I like the—what do you call that length? Bracelet sleeve?
