things-i-bought,-things-i-want

Things I bought, things I want

Spring clothing has started to trickle in to stores, but I’m only ready to look at items that will work now as well as when it’s warmer, and this great bandana print dress from Madewell definitely fits the bill: I’d wear it with tights and boots now, and sandals a bit later.

This navy cotton sweater is the just-right amount of oversized—without looking sloppy—and is also pretty well-priced.

I always brake for a pair of pull-on pants that don’t look like pull-on pants, and these, from Vince, are so smart, and nicely tapered at the ankle.

Maybe the cutest oven mitt of all time—I bought two, because how could I not?

This funnel neck hooded coat is so damned chic in this bright and happy green—what a lovely departure from the sea of black puffers this time of year.

The finish on this cool skirt makes it look like leather, and the price is unbeatable.

This striped hoodie sweater is so far up my alley, and I’m always up for a light blue and brown color combination.

Such an pretty eyelet top that’s a lot on its own but would look fantastic peeking out from under a blazer.

The skin on my arms and legs gets so nasty, itchy, and dry this time of year, which is why this body oil is my new best friend. It hydrates like crazy and absorbs really fast.

This twill jacket maybe doesn’t look like much here, but I really dig its simplicity, and the fact that it takes its inspiration from a track jacket. I could see wearing this constantly. It is in my cart as I type.

As I was exploring the Saks site the other day, I discovered a new (to me, at least) extended sizes brand called Baacal, and they’ve got some really nice pieces on offer, like this amazing caftan-ish dress in such a good floral print. I also like this reversible satin pleated dress, and this pretty lace blouse.

I love a V-neck—like this cashmere one—that reminds me of what country club tennis pros wore in the 70s.
