Things I bought, things I want
I’m really making an effort to dress tonally—in the same color head to toe, or variations of it—more often these days, because I agree with those people who say that’s more flattering. But it’s infinitely easier—for me, anyway—to do that when it’s winter and I can just default to grays, blues, and blacks. This look from Kule is giving me inspiration, for how to dress tonally in spring, though. This utility shirt is pretty perfect: the sandy shade is somehow exactly right, and it’s got a very slightly swingy shape, which I always appreciate. I’d pair it just as styled here, with these spiff pull-on pants.
And how amazing is this leopard print jacket? Such a cool take on the classic barn jacket, and the print is really extra good.
I’m also pretty partial to this lightweight leopard cardi, in cashmere.
A friend recently asked me to unearth some good blazers for travel, and I landed on this machine-washable one from Ruti. I also like that the fit is on the roomier side, making it ideal for layering. For a 15% discount, enter KIM15 at checkout.
Another washable blazer, also from Ruti: you know I dig a gold button, so I couldn’t resist this one. And the same discount above applies to this.
I’ve been searching for a new key ring forever: one wouldn’t think that’s something I’d be picky about, but then again we do contain multitudes. Anyway, I spied these cute lips, and for whatever reason, I’m enchanted. Bonus points for the fact that this is bright red, and will be easy to spot in my bag.
I love the slightly boxy silhouette of this short sleeve button-down; it comes in a lot of other shades and patterns, but I think this one is so fun.
Similarly, this green shirt really pops. And I am always in favor of a band collar.
I was gifted this heavy silk shirt from Ayr, and have been wearing it almost nonstop: it has a nicely substantial feel, and drapes beautifully.
Madewell’s flattering and easy utility pants are back, and I might go for them in this army green.
A cool short sleeve cashmere sweater that fits like a beloved old T-shirt. I love the almost-to-the-elbow sleeves and slouchy fit.
My moth situation is still not 100% under control, so I’ve been gravitating more towards cotton sweaters, and this one from Alex Mill is just adorable. I like its ivory iteration almost as much.
This embroidered bandana looks handmade and one-of-a-kind.
Everlane has introduced a short-sleeve version of their boxy button-down, and I am there for it.
And finally, the chicest half-zip sweatsirt I have yet to find.
