things-i-bought,-things-i-want

Things I bought, things I want

Spring has not quite properly sprung, but there are fat little buds on the tree outside my bedroom window, the daffodils and forsythia are sprouting, and I haven’t had to wear my puffer in a week. So my thoughts have turned—as they quite often do this time of year—to cute, lightweight outerwear, and I am currently quite enamored of this sweater jacket from Guest in Residence. It also comes in this very nice blue.

I was gifted this poplin top, and it couldn’t be any more squarely in my wheelhouse: it has an easy, peasant-y shape, a nice deep neckline, and absolutely no unnecessary details. I’m wearing it kind of a lot. And this is nice: for 15% off, enter KIM15 at checkout

A great pair of Levi’s with a little bit of stretch that comes in a lot of washes; these have a similar vibe, but no stretch, if that’s more your thing.

I’ll be traveling in Europe for a nice hunk of time this summer, and am of course already looking to see which travel-related contraptions I need to nab this time around. This cool-looking thing is a one-quart, TSA-compliant cosmetic bag that—brilliantly—comes wide open at the top—so handy for hotel bathrooms. It’s from Cadence, the same company that brings you the famously leakproof capsules that I am now devoted to.

Along similar lines, I am very excited by this diminutive wide tooth travel comb.

A pretty and graphic floral tie-neck blouse; I’d wear it with the tie knotted lower, just as shown here.

This cool bag—it comes in other colors, but I really like the navy—has a longer strap too and, and is blessedly free of hardware, which I always appreciate. Also, if you’re curious about that leather tee, you can find it here.

Just a really stellar striped shirt that I’m going to have a tough time not buying for myself. There is nothing more cheerfully chic than red, white, and blue stripes together.

I’m also rather partial to this sweet popover, with its appealingly high stand collar.

I get sent a lot of beauty products these days, which is why this mascara from Tower 28 arrived on my doorstep. It promises to volumize and lengthen—not many mascaras make that claim. And it accomplishes that task, with precious little flaking and clumping. It goes on clean and stays put.

My lips are often chapped, a situation that I exacerbate by wearing drying, matte lip color. This hydrating treatment oil turns into gloss after you apply it, and just might be the solution.

This pretty top from Doen is on extremely high rotation in my closet right now. It’s made of a silk/viscose blend but is so soft that you’d never know it wasn’t pure silk. I really want you guys to open your minds about synthetics and synthetic blends; sometimes they can be really good.

My podcast co-host Jenn raved about this oversized cotton button-down from Old Navy the other day—she got it in the green, which is sold out in most sizes, but of course I’m happy to default to black. Oh, and it’s yours for under $20.

And speaking of Old Navy, might I have to go for this delightfully orange shirt dress? Which is also very nice in the blue version?
