The Friday wrap-up

  • Happy Spring, which officially sprang yesterday, and for which I am desperately ready. If I were in London right now I would for sure check out this very seasonally-themed exhibition: Flowers: Flora in Contemporary Art and Culture, at the Saatchi Gallery.

  • Is gossip good for us? Turns out maybe.

  • Fascinating: this woman writes that a sex sabbatical was the best thing that could have happened to her sex life.

  • I’m currently reading the novel A Gorgeous Excitement, and it is so far up my alley. Set in the summer of 1986 on the Upper East Side, the book takes as its inspiration the Preppy Murder, when Robert Chambers killed Jennifer Levin, and claimed her death was the accidental result of rough sex. I was just about the age of the lead character in 1986, and this book brings back the New York City of that era so memorably.
