It’s my birthday! Beauty favorites fit for a Taurus birthday
It’s been a little quiet here due to some recent travel and the madness some of you might recognize as the Sephora sale. There’s no other way to put that I’ve been in a frenzy of shopping with frequent visits to Sephora and my birthday, which was on Monday, but I’m definitely still celebrating!
I’m kind of in a calm before the storm moment – I have a ton of products that I’m currently backlogged with testing and due to said hectic schedule I haven’t had a lot of time to devote to testing products, taking notes, filming content, writing these posts, you get it.
But today’s post is a special kind of recent favorites I’ve been reaching for over and over again for my birthday celebrations (yes, I’ve had multiple), and products that have been making me feel my best.
Chanel Rouge Coco Flash in Moment – this is my current one and done neutral lip; the lip color I reach for when I need to run out of the house and I don’t have any extra seconds to spare to do a whole ~lip combo routine~. First, this shade is just perfection for a quick lip shade – it’s a medium tone brown with a slight hint of deep red. It’s just the kind of brown that doesn’t look too brown, but instantly pulls your look together. It’s absolutely gorgeous, and the formula is super lightweight and comfortable to wear as well – no lip prep needed.
Dior Forever Liquid Lacquer Lipstick – if you follow me on Instagram, you’ll have already seen that I’ve been talking everybody’s ear off about this long-wearing transferproof lipstick that is actually comfortable and doesn’t dry my lips off over the day. The liquid lacquer formula means that it goes on glossy and stays fairly shiny through its entire weartime, though the shine tones down after a couple hours. And when I say this gem is long-wearing and transferproof, I mean it. I wore it for 9 hours one day and it lasted through multiple drinks and a whole dinner, and when I got home that night, I could still see a slightly toned down, but still visible, wash of color on my lips. And my lips didn’t feel dry once in that whole wear time. I’m totally obsessed and my only regret is that these come in a smaller shade range and aren’t at more retailers where Dior is sold. However, it is at Nordstrom, Macys, and of course, Dior’s website. Icone is my favorite shade, by the way, and I showcased it in this reel.
Dior Forever Glow Maximizer Liquid Highlighter in Nude – this is the liquid highlighter I bought after I swore I wouldn’t buy more liquid highlighters. There are a few gorgeous shades in this line, but it wasn’t until Nude arrived at Sephora that I really went for it. The shade is a super versatile and easy to wear champagne with a slight rose gold tint, with very fine shimmer particles that give off a more pearlescent glow than an intense shine. It blends and applies well whether using my fingers or a brush or a sponge, and it is very very foolproof. Bonus that this has a handy doe foot applicator, which makes it easy to control just the amount of product that I need. Look I know powder highlighters are having a moment again, but this liquid formula is the one I’m reaching for over and over again.

Dior Rosy Glow Blush in Mahogany – yes, another Dior product – I’m really having a moment with them at the moment! I’ve been intimidated by this shade since basically the day it launched last year, but after seeing several very light-handed applications on people with lighter skintones than me, I was convinced this would work for me. If you’re intimidated by this deep neutral brown shade, this is your sign to get it. Applied with a fluffy brush (like this one) I can get a sheer wash of color for a bronzer application. I’ve heard of some people using this as a straight up bronzer, but I personally like this applied high up on my cheek bones, blending upward toward my temple rather than down towards the apple of my cheeks. It also works wonderfully layered with the other shades in the line (the OG rosy glow shade is personally my favorite!). Give Mahogany a try and thank me later. If you need more convincing, I apply it in this reel.
Natasha Denona Mini Dream Palette – I didn’t know I needed this little palette until I saw Teresa post about it on her Instagram, and I basically bought it that same day. This petite palette is a neutral-toned neutral lovers dream and has shades that I would want to reach for a day to day look. The shimmers are beautiful without being too frosty, and the matte shades come in the perfect tones for a blending and transition, adding depth, and smudging out eyeliner. For a portable and approachable palette, this is one to get for everything from a subtle everyday to look to a more smoky look.
Sigma Beauty Cool Neutrals Palette (save with code BEAUTYUNHYPED) – this brand new palette is not technically out yet (though it launched early here), but I have been testing it out for a few weeks and let me tell you, this palette was absolutely MADE for me. Yes, it’s a cool neutrals palette, but there are enough warmer neutrals to warm everything up so that it doesn’t wash me out.
Here’s a look I did with the palette that might be one of my favorite looks, ever. (This is the lipstick, by the way)
and one final look at the shades up close:
Honestly, the shimmer/glitter shades in here are enough to justify this palette on their own and there are all the sultry neutral and cool toned (and the most stunning silver) that I could ever want. If you’re a cool toned neutrals lover like me, or you just love some really beautiful shimmers, you absolutely need this palette, which is launching on Friday, May 3rd
Salt and Stone Hair and Fragrance Mist – Bergamot and Hinoki – Call me a traumatized millennial (high school locker rooms, anyone?), but I’m a little slow getting back to the fragrance mist trend. There have been a few really lovely releases lately, but this one has me absolutely back on the wagon. Starting with the glass bottle that already takes this up a notch from the usual plastic bottles, this mist is super fine, sophisticated, and lasts longer than an average mist as well. I get about 6 hours of wear, which is at least double a standard mist. The bergamot and hinoki scent, which I’ve been using in their body wash, and it is so comfortable and earthy and grounding all at once. If you’re looking for a little treat, but don’t want to drop heavy $$$ on a perfume, this is the one to get.
My birthday might be over but with these delightful products and an upcoming vacation, we can all continue to celebrate together. Now it’s your turn to tell me – what has been making you feel your best lately, beauty product or not?
As always, thanks for reading.
