Kitten heels are the answer

Kitten heels used to strike me as impossibly prissy and not at all my thing. But that was before I stopped being able to wear higher heels without crushing pain. Now I think they’re just great—both walkable and chic. I especially like this pair, with studded details, from Reformation.

Those of you who listened to this week’s episode of the podcast might recall that we discussed a particular—and quite amazing—Rachel Comey pump that we both would love to own. Reader, it is this.

Snakeskin works really well as a neutral, and these are just cute as can be.

I do like a pointy toe; I think they’re polished looking, and give the appearance of the shoe having a higher heel. These, from Madewell, are so poppy in red.

This braided leather pair deeply appeals, and I’m not typically drawn to white footwear.

These are just a smidge higher than a kitten heel, but they’re so elegant that I’m allowing it.

Just a solid, classic slingback mule.

This gold metallic pair would have the power to render even the most boring outfit exciting.

A good, solid pump from Naturalizer, so they’re sure to be comfy.
