Mission: brightening up my kitchen
What I really want to do is to redecorate my home, top to bottom. But I’ll settle for some new tableware and whatnot, starting with this excellent bowl from Marimekko.
Also from Marimekko: this pretty, watercolor-ish mug that would make that first cup of morning coffee a cheerier affair.
I also like this cool Marimekko salad plate: the orange border really makes it.
Over at Hawkins New York, I found these adorable floral-themed salad servers, which I’m not certain I can continue to exist without.
They’ve also got this great pot holder, which is sort of the platonic ideal of the ones we made in summer camp.
Over on Etsy, I spied this amazing vintage bowl from a midcentury Finnish brand called Finel Arabia that I had previously not heard of, but with which I am now obsessed.
Also Finel Arabia: this bowl, with its appealingly fat hearts.
Finally, I checked out the uber-cool Lower East Side store Coming Soon, where I found this great serving set. I typically wouldn’t show you something so redundant with the salad servers above, but I just like it so much (also, it comes in a few other amazing, bright colors and has a matching platter).
I also fell in love with this adorable serving plate.
We break mugs (and other dishes) with stunning regularity in my household, and I wonder sometimes if I should just default to unbreakable melamine Hellerware mugs—and plates, while I’m at it.
