The best resources for extended sizes
For reliably well-made and highly wearable pieces that are fairly priced, it’s tough to beat Universal Standard. You will find the widest size range here of just about anywhere—from 00 to 40. This chambray shirt dress comes in four washes, and is also available in linen and poplin.
For party dresses, I like Rixo, which goes up to size 22. The selection isn’t huge, but it’s really nice—though a little more size representation among their models would be appreciated. This polka dot dress is right on trend.
I also like Reformation for dresses; they go up to size 24, and this linen dress is just aces.
Pretty much—if not literally—all clothing on offer for women from Old Navy is available in sizes up to 4X, and I especially like their button-downs, like this chambray one.
Not to sound like a broken record, but it surprises me that Eileen Fisher does not have more size diversity of models. That seems right up their alley. Still, they do have close to 300 very good options to choose from, including this nice linen peasant top.
I discovered Baacal a little while ago, and really like their fun and quite wearable pieces, like this leopard print shirt.
Quince has a nice selection of extended sizes—they top out at 3X—and I’d go for one of their classic and well-priced washable silk shirts.
For swimwear, my new favorite brand is Andie Swim, and I especially like this one-piece.
Mango has really stepped up their extended sizes game in the past few years; how perfect is this lady jacket?
Over at Nordstrom, you can find pieces by their in-house line as well as bigger brands that are hard to find in these sizes—to wit, this great quilted jacket from Barbour.
And for workout wear, I very much like Girlfriend Collective—these leggings and pretty much everything they offer is available in sizes up to 6XL.
