Things I bought, things I want
Hey, I’m in Philly all week—the husband has work here—and I’m looking for recommendations for shopping, dining, art-watching, whatever, so please do share. Meanwhile, I always brake for a tuxedo shirt, and this silk one is just so subtle and chic.
I’m slowly acclimating to the wide-leg pants look, ages after it became a trend, and I think these cotton chinos—also available in crisp khaki—are just so slouchily excellent.
I might wear those wide-leg chinos with this great oversized polo shirt.
A solid utility shirt for not a lot of cash that comes in a few other good colors.
And while we’re on the topic of shirts, this lilac one—made of soft Pima cotton—is divine.
And how fun is this pink and red option?
A cute-as-can-be cotton tote for hauling around your whatever.
I have enjoyed having Birkenstock shearling-lined Boston clogs as my winter house shoe, but they make less sense now that it’s warming up. So I went for a pair of the Rothy’s Casual Clog. And readers, they might actually be as comfortable as Birkenstocks! Maybe more! Also, they’re totally appropriate for outdoor wear, and come in a ton of other (mostly neutral) shades.
Also weirdly appealing: these clunky suede Uggs that look like they’d add an inch or two of height without pain (which is never not a consideration when I’m shopping for footwear).
I’ve always heard that Rare Beauty is one of the better celebrity-helmed cosmetic brands (it’s Selena Gomez’s), so I was excited to receive some product from them the other day. Standouts: this amazing mascara that volumizes without clumping; this easy-to-use, excellent liquid blush, and this tinted lip oil, which starts off glossy but then lasts and lasts.
I feel a post on cute spring jackets coming on soon, but in the meantime I don’t feel like gatekeeping this spiff pin-striped number.
Over at Gap, I found this great linen blend pointelle cardi, an ideal layer for right now.
Clare V has issued their weekender bag in canvas, and I can’t get over how much I like it in this bright, bright orange (it also comes in black, just fyi)
This polo dress looks like the ultimate throw-it-on-and-go piece.
