things-i-bought,-things-i-want

Things I bought, things I want

How much is too much to pay for a button-down? That was my question after being gifted this frankly perfect shirt, from the NYC-based brand TWP. It is maybe the nicest shirt of its kind I’ve ever owned, expertly cut and made of a much higher-quality cotton than I’m honestly used to. It’s lightweight and crisp and just utterly perfect. Now I really want this excellent striped version too. I think I’d wear it constantly. But my days of spending this much on a top are decidedly in the past. Will I go for it? Only time will tell.

These pull-on, cropped ponte pants, on the other hand, are a complete no-brainer, and come in several other good shades.

You really have to click through and zoom in on this shirtdress from Cos, because it’s got a really cool print against a pale pink background that doesn’t quite come across in this picture.

A super-chic cotton sweater with an appealingly oversize collar and nice deep neckline.

I’m trying to give up traditional and maybe-bad-for-you antiperspirants, but I dislike strongly-scented deodorants that only seem to mask odor and get smellier as the day marches on. This one, however, has a lovely, vetiver-ish scent that doesn’t overwhelm, and it really seems to work.

These slingbacks are exactly what I’ve been searching for: a sharp-looking sandal that has the vibe of a higher heel but is still deeply walkable.

This cute Breton tee from La Ligne comes in a ton of good stripe combinations, but of course I had to go for the yellow one.

And, on the topic of stripes, here’s a cool tee dress that’s an absolute steal.

I can’t wait till it’s warm enough to try out these chic little sandals—and I’m really pleased with myself for choosing them in this excellent orange, when they also come in black.

I was an obsessive hand-washer before Covid, and have only became more so since then. I also only use the cheapest hand wash at the grocery store, and my hands—which are so, so dry—are paying the price. But then I tried this, from Ursa Major, and not only does it have the most delightful scent, but it’s sulfate-free, with a formula that hydrates as it cleans.

And finally, I’m not certain I could pull off this audaciously loud shirt, but I’d sure like to try.
