Things I bought, things I want
I currently have a few fond—but seemingly unattainable—desires, the strongest of which might be to learn how to dress with color. I’m just not especially good at it, and my efforts to do so more often turn out clownish than chic. This Rachel Comey outfit is a perfect example of what I wish I could do better, and I’m especially enamored of this amazing skirt, which pops like crazy and is such a good shape.
And here’s a dress that looks put-together and easy at the same time. I’ve also got a hunch it’d be flattering on a variety of body types.
I really dig the details on this pretty gauzy cotton blouse; it’s ever-so-slightly sheer, so I’ve been wearing it with a black silk cami, but it’d also look great with a colorful one like this.
Ever since I acquired my ultra-comfy Rothy’s clogs, I’ve been searching for some more summery footwear from the brand. I’m heading to Europe in July, and want the most walkable (but not unstylish) footwear I can find. To that end, I am quite enchanted by these spiff slides, and also think I might have to go for this cute wedge sandal.
And speaking of, I’ll definitely be packing these great sandals for the trip: they’re as comfortable as Birkenstocks, but a lot more polished-looking. The navy version is also quite good, if metallics are not your thing.
I love my new track pants from Splits 59, and wear them whenever I can. The material is nicely slinky and soft. I also quite like them in this blue.
Negative might be my new favorite destination for bras; I just acquired their sexy-but-also-practical cutout bra, which I already own and love in this eyelet lace iteration.
A really appealing open-stitch cardigan, perfect for warm days that turn into cool nights.
This cotton drawstring skirt may not look like much, but I just got it, and it’s pretty perfect. The silhouette is somehow a bit less straight than it looks here, which I think is more flattering. It’s definitely coming to Europe.
And finally, how cheery is this waxed cotton jacket? I have all the lightweight outerwear a person could possibly need, but oh how I want this.
